How to Play Daily Lotto
Daily Lotto is operated by Sizekhaya Holdings, the National Lottery operator since June 2026. To play, you choose five numbers from a pool of 1 to 36. Unlike Lotto and PowerBall, there’s no separate bonus ball to select, which makes it one of the simplest National Lottery games to play.

A standard Daily Lotto board costs R3. Daily Lotto Plus, the add-on draw that previously ran alongside the main game, was discontinued when Sizekhaya took over the National Lottery in June 2026, so Daily Lotto is now played as a single, standalone game.
Daily Lotto Draw Days and Times
Daily Lotto draws take place every single day at 21:00 SAST, including weekends, with the only exception being Christmas Day. This makes it the most frequent of the National Lottery’s draw games, giving players a new chance to win 364 days a year.
How This Generator Works
The generator uses a random number function to select five unique values from the 1 to 36 pool. Each number has an equal chance of being selected, and numbers can never repeat within a single generated set, just as they can’t on an official ticket.
Odds of Winning Daily Lotto
Daily Lotto uses a 5 out of 36 format, which is a smaller number pool than Lotto or PowerBall. This makes it the National Lottery’s most winnable draw game, with the shortest odds of landing a prize.
Jackpot Odds Formula:

The number of ways to choose 5 numbers from a pool of 36, without repetition, is 376,992. This means the odds of matching all five numbers in a single draw are 1 in 376,992, considerably shorter than PowerBall’s roughly 1 in 33.9 million jackpot odds.
Unlike PowerBall and Lotto, Daily Lotto has no rollovers. If nobody matches all five numbers in a draw, the jackpot prize pool is shared out among the next-best prize tier instead of carrying over to the following day.
A Note on Number Selection Strategies
Every Daily Lotto draw is an independent, random event. Numbers that have come up frequently in past draws are not more likely to be drawn again, and numbers that haven’t appeared recently aren’t “due” for a win. Each of the 376,992 possible combinations carries exactly the same probability of being drawn.
Using a generator won’t shorten your odds compared to picking numbers manually, but it does avoid the bias many players show toward birthdates and other meaningful numbers, which cluster combinations in the 1 to 31 range and can lead to a bigger split if you do win.
