What Is the Lotto Plus 1 Number Generator?

This tool creates random, unbiased number combinations for Lotto Plus 1, the add-on draw that runs alongside the main Lotto game. Instead of manually picking numbers or using the in-store Quick Pick option, you can generate your combination here, then use it when you buy your ticket in-store, online, or through your banking app.

How to Play Lotto Plus 1

Lotto Plus 1 is operated by Sizekhaya Holdings, the National Lottery operator since June 2026. It uses the same format as the main Lotto draw: you choose six numbers from a pool of 1 to 52. Lotto Plus 1 is not a standalone game. You can only play it as an add-on when you’ve already bought a main Lotto board, and your six numbers are automatically entered into both draws using the same selection.

Step 1: Select six unique numbers between 1 and 52.

Step 2: Add Lotto Plus 1 to your main Lotto board for an extra R2.50.

Step 3: Wait for the draw to see if your numbers, plus the bonus ball, match either game.

Lotto Plus 1 costs R2.50 per board on top of your main Lotto entry. A separate set of six numbers plus a bonus ball is drawn for Lotto Plus 1, so it’s an entirely independent draw from the main Lotto game, giving you a second chance to win with the same numbers. Players can also use the newer MP1 option to add one extra number to their selection, at seven times the standard ticket price, for more winning combinations on a single board.

Lotto Plus 1 Draw Days and Times

Lotto Plus 1 draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday at 21:00 SAST, directly following the main Lotto draw.

How This Generator Works

The generator uses a random number function to select six unique values from the 1 to 52 pool for your main numbers, then separately selects one bonus ball from the remaining pool. Each number has an equal chance of being selected, and the six main numbers can never repeat within a single generated set, just as they can’t on an official ticket.

Odds of Winning Lotto Plus 1

Since Lotto Plus 1 shares the same 6 out of 52 format as the main Lotto draw, the odds are identical to Lotto itself.

Jackpot Odds Formula:

Odds = C(52,6)

The number of ways to choose 6 numbers from a pool of 52, without repetition, is 20,358,520. This means the odds of matching all six numbers in a single Lotto Plus 1 draw are 1 in 20,358,520. Lower prize divisions require matching three, four, or five of the six numbers, and carry significantly better odds than the jackpot tier.

Because Lotto Plus 1 numbers are drawn separately from the main Lotto numbers, your one set of chosen numbers effectively gets two independent shots at a jackpot for a relatively small extra cost.

A Note on Number Selection Strategies

Every Lotto Plus 1 draw is an independent, random event, separate even from the main Lotto draw held moments earlier using the same numbers you chose. Numbers that have come up frequently in past draws are not more likely to be drawn again, and numbers that haven’t appeared recently aren’t “due” for a win. Each of the 20,358,520 possible combinations carries exactly the same probability of being drawn. Using a generator won’t shorten your odds compared to picking numbers manually, but it does avoid the bias many players show toward birthdates and other meaningful numbers, which cluster combinations in the 1 to 31 range and can lead to a bigger split if you do win.
